The Inca's were amazing people. Inca's were Native South American people. Inca was founded in the 1430's. Inca's didn't use hoarse or people. In the valley Inca's grew many varities of vegatables, fruits and grains. Soil was not very good it could be washed away by rain. Inca's  grew many kinds of corn and potatoes. European people didnt know about potatoes until they visted Inca.

Animals were very important to the Inca's. The llamas were sometimes transportation.You would ussually find the llamas near the moutains. Their were many colorful birds called parrots. The parrots feathers were worned by the Inca's. In the Andes Mountains the Inca's founded the city Cusco. Cusco was known as the capital of Inca.

Many temples, schools, houses, and palaces were in Cusco. Temples were decorated with gold and silver. Coricancha is a Quechua word that means'Golden Courtyard'. The Golden Courtyard was the most important temple in the Inca Empire. It was dedacated to Inti (the sun god). There are many earthquakes near, some have damaged the church. The Golden Courtyard was very improtant to the Inca's.

 

Many tribes were in the Andes Mountains. Inca's love making pottery. They were very creative with their work. They made animals and people out of the pottery. Pottery started being used in the 1800's B.C. They made bowls plates, and many more. The most beautiful pottery's were for the temples.

 

One of the greatest emperor's was Pachcuti. Pachcuti father was a emperor also, his name was Viracocha. Pachcutic and Urcon ( Viracocha other son) both wanted to be emperor. But when the Incans faced a battle Urcon became nervous. Pachcuti went to war and won! Everyone was so happy that Pachcuti won. Viracocha ended up dying everyone was sad. Pachcuti was emperor after his father had died.

 

Below the Sapa Inca were the nobles. Below the nobles were a calss of men called curacas. At the bottom of the Inca society was craftsmen and farmers. There were emeperors and their family.  The royal family were basically the bosses. They helped everyone get in order. They built roades and farmlands throughout the Andes Mountains.

 

You are probally wondering did Inca have a civilization right? Well they didnt have a civilization. The Incans didnt have a language. But they were very creative and made a quipu which is ''a string tied with knots. Only trained men could read it. Their are many clues at Inca like mummies and many more. Archeologist keep trying to figuire out how did they live, what did they do for a living. But until then its all a big mystery!

 

In very short time the Incans became a powerful nation. The kingdom of Cusco was re-organized into an empire. Like I said before they dont have a system of writing. They have many special ways though. They had all kinds of stuff for quipu like they recorded weddings, births and many more. They were awsome and intelligant.

 

That's why I picked Inca. It seemed very interesting to me when I first heard it. I see they had many stuff they loved and cared about. I learned temples and gods ae important in Inca also. I also learned they didnt have a social structure. Its so many things you can learn by researching.!
